My kids did like a League of their Own, as well as Princess Bride, Apollo 13, and Monty' Python's Holy Grail (we skipped the scene with the virgins).  I agree that many older movies have a slower pace that kids today don't like, though.

I surprisingly really enjoyed Spiderman Into the Spiderverse.  I also really liked Song of the Sea (Irish independent film -- slower than U.S. kids' movies but my impatient kids were drawn in).  
Something like the female Ghostbusters might be fun, but not sure if you would think it was okay for the kids. 
I've been wanting to watch the Tom Hanks movie about Mr. Rogers, but my kids haven't been willing to watch it.

I think it really depends on if your kids are boys or girls. My female nieces enjoyed Princess Bride but my sons wanted to die during most of it. I think especially boys these days are used to IN YOUR FACE constant stimulation from media. I'm not saying it's a good thing. Into the Spiderverse was an amazing film, especially in 3D. I definitely agree that adults and kids alike, presumably of all genders, would generally really like it. On the flip side, my sons really liked the movie Alita (Battle Angel) which has a strong female protagonist and tons of violence as well. Adults were also very caught up in Alita. My dad who falls asleep in almost every movie throughout history (he's now 70) actually stayed awake, eyes glued to screen, throughout the entire movie. This guy fell asleep during Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park including the T-Rex scene.[/quote]
