Typical DCUM thread -- OP: My DC likes Wake Forest. What other schools are like Wake Forest? Answer: Wake Forest is full of Southern People. DC doesn't really like it. Answer to actual question: Harder to get into: Emory About the same: Tulane, University of Miami Easier to get into: SMU, TCU, Baylor, Louisville
Louisville is literally one of the worst universities in the country. Not even close to any of the others you mention.
Also a typical DCUM response. What about that list being a spectrum did you not get?
A spectrum that would waste OP's time. OP is asking for schools similar to Wake Forest. Wake is ranked the #27 national university, just behind Carnegie Mellon and Michigan, and just ahead of UVA, GA Tech and NYU. Louisville is tied for #192 with Ball State and Misericorida, just behind UNC-Wilmington and Biola, and just ahead of Bellarmine and Bethel. Yes, those are their actual peer schools in the rankings. Do you homework, girl, and admit you were wrong.
Not wrong. Rankings are based, for the most part, on how hard schools are to get into, based on acceptance rates and average test scores. Unlike you, I was trying to be precise (and not to mention, kind) and used that measure ("harder to get into" vs. "easier to get into.") (WTH does "worst" mean?) You probably don't realize that not everyone lives and dies by the USNWR rankings or whatever scale you're citing (it's impossible to know, since you don't give an actual source). My interpretation of OP's question is that DC wants to go to Wake Forest, but is looking for a school that was similar in atmosphere and culture to Wake Forest, as she was afraid she might not get into Wake Forest. So, I covered as many of the options as I could think of on a spectrum. It's up to OP's DC to do their research and make a call on whether they're looking for more reaches, matches, or safeties in the context of their overall application list. Besides, FWIW, Niche's list of "Best Middle Sized Universities" in America had Louisville ranked in between the University of Vermont and Loyola University of Chicago. If you think those are "literally the worst Universities in the country" then you live in a very different reality than the rest of us. https://www.niche.com/colleges/search/best-medium-colleges/?page=4
