Petfinder is really just a directory of dogs from area rescues.  You may be able to find a dog you like there but you'll still need to work directly with the rescue organization to adopt. If you do go with a breeder, do a LOT of research, check references, and make sure you're working with one that is reputable.  Be preparted to wait 6, 9 months, even a year for a good breeder and pay several thousand dollars.  [/quote]
