Literally nothing, if it wasn’t for my kids, I would have in all likelihood ended my life by now.
I don't know if you are serious, but I feel exactly the same way. No joy, nothing to look forward to. I'm mourning the experiences that my kids are losing and consumed with worry about their futures. I love having more time with them at home, but I also recognize that they need experiences away from me. If I hear one more person say school is not childcare I might actually need to be hospitalized. Not every kid has a huge social network outside of school. As a society, we are so divided. I feel numb, disconnected, and empty.
Yes I’m serious. Honestly it’s not even love for my kids keeping me going, more like the recognition that having a traumatically dead parent would be bad for them in their future, plus honestly my husband doesn’t come from a long-lived line of people (his grandparents all died in their 60s and 70s, although his parents both just turned 70 and are still alive) and I don’t want them to be fully alone as young adults.
