My 3 year old is able to do 15 minutes at a time so we’ll be fine. Lots of reinforcement and time put into me teaching the skill based on what the teacher said. But she went from literally ONE minute in March to 15 in May. Love her teacher and wish we could have her again...
Can you describe what you did? It doesn’t count if you had to strap her in a high chair!
So basically started with 1 minute and like 5 sessions a day. I know it sounds crazy but every time she sat with NO tantrums I gave her 1 piece of candy, (like 1 gummy bear and that’s huge she knows treats are usually reserved for holidays) As we got used to 1 we bumped it up to 3 minutes and so on and every time she did not have a tantrum she’d get the treat of her choice. And she would only get this treat for doing the lessons, not during anything else. The teacher explained the reasoning but I’m so sorry I forgot since I’m not an expert. Eventually my child started associating online learning as fun and started to engage more. And now I don’t even have to give her treats lol. And it doesn’t have to be candy I saw other parents reminding their children about the race car toy or whatever toy that they could only play with after video sessions. I’m not going to lie, I thought the teacher was BSing me at first but it eventually really did work. Because lemme tell you I wanted to strap her to that chair when we first started. I was embarrassed as heck.
