Not a "major infringement on our freedoms" One your child is an adult so not "your freedoms" Two college is a choice not a right so if you don't want to follow their rules then go somewhere else. This is simple and not something to complain about. Your young adult gets to make that decision. Oh wait I doubt you treat your kid that way. They most likely do not make any decisions for themselves, ie society is screwed.
