I don't get my caloric intake and weight loss or gain either. I am like you op, most of the time. I walk over 15k steps and was watching what I eat and counting. At best I would lose 2 lbs in a week, and then one day of eating just a bit more and I gain 3lbs! Nothing makes sense. So all my effort gone, this has been going on for over a year. I went away for 10 days, and ate like a pig, I mean I ate a whole huge bag of sour patch kids in 4 days! Huge one! I ate so much for 10 days, I thought I will be 10lbs heavier! But, nope, I only gained 2. Weight loss and gain a mystery to me. How could I gain 2,3 lbs in one day at home, and only 2 lbs with 10 days of eating non stop?
You didn’t gain 2lbs Of fat in one day. The scale is just showing normal fluctuations due to salt consumption, hormone fluctuations, hydration levels, etc. Etc. This is why most professionals discourage weighing every day. There is no effort gone if you keep at it. 2 lbs in a week is very good and sustainable fat loss.
2 lbs a week is a lot and likely not sustainable at all.
