The UFO one is fascinating! Also, the Baltimore one is frightening. Someone at his job definitely knows something.
The friend/boss is so shady. He didn't attend his memorial service or funeral, wtf? One theory is that he fell/was thrown from a helicopter: https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/unsolved-mysteries-3-major-details-missing-rey-rivera-episode-netflix.html/
There's a book written about the case and the author did an AMA on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/UnsolvedMysteries/comments/hqj3kk/ama_mikita_brottman_author_of_an_unexplained/ After looking at the evidence she concluded that the most likely explanation was Rey had a psychotic episode and jumped. Apparently forensics concluded he could have made the hole with a running start from the roof. And there were some aspects of strange/paranoid behavior leading up to his death. There are certainly some uncertainties but it does seem most likely it was unfortunately a suicide.
Wasn't the distance 45 feet across to the hole, how is that even possible? His injuries weren't consistent with that type of death. How could his phone and glasses be untouched with that kind of fall, and outside of the hole?
I think Netflix probably (understandably) sensationalized some aspects of the case for the show. According to the author - who looked deep into the evidence for years - forensics concluded that he could have made the hole with a running start and he had to be traveling 11mph. And the injuries were all consistent with a fall from that height according to the ME (the author had never heard about the shin breaks being inconsistent and that is apparently not in the report). As for the phone and glasses - still unclear. Perhaps they were in his pocket and only fell out closer to the bottom? There are definitely a lot of unknowns as far as the timeline and certain aspects but looking at the evidence it seems the most likely conclusion was that he jumped from an apparent psychotic break.
But, to access the roof he would have had to enter the building to even get up there. He wasn't on any of the hotel footage. They were fairly certain he never entered the building. I don't think he killed himself. Didn't the investigators say his glasses and phone looked like they were strategically placed beside the hole?
Someone from work called, triggering him. The fact that no one admits to calling him is suspicious in itself. No way he just decided to go to this random spot and jump. There are much better places to jump. Someone called to get him there.
