But I think this is one of the challenges of living in this area, that we all end up with strange ideas about what middle class is, both in terms of money and in terms of what we have. I'm in a similar income bracket as OP, and I have to remind myself regularly that what I see around me (million dollar houses, families taking lots of expensive vacations) is not what middle class really is.
