In sibling studies where one was BFed and the other not (all other things being similar - same gene pool, same household, etc) there weren't any statistically significant benefits to children's health. Other research also points to very modest benefits at best. Read "Crib sheet" by Emily Oster where she analyzes the results of the actual studies. Lactivism is completely out of control in this country. It disregards maternal mental and physical state. She is a person who is experiencing pain, not a milk farm that "owes" to produce to anybody.
