An agitated person walking towards you on a public street could be all kinds of things--they are having a stroke, their dog ran away and they're looking for it, they just witnessed a crime and need you to call 911, they had a car accident around the corner, they really have to pee so they're hustling to their house, whatever. It's not a capital offense and you're not judge, jury, and executioner. The idea that shooting someone in front of your playing children is somehow the safer response is really hard for me to understand. But I do get why it's fun to play the tough guy on the internet.
