This is a fun thread. DC and I agree that the "Frasier" casting is perfect. Thinking about "what might have been" points that out even more. Originally the part of Roz went to Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe on "Friends"). So, Frasier fans, picture Kudrow as Roz....nope. Clearly the casting folks got it right the second time. Nothing against Kudrow, she just would not have been right for Roz as written. And David Hyde Pierce in particular is brilliantly cast as Niles. Probably the least-talked-about best casting ever. Even after a million re-run viewings, his acting never stales. Totally different type of show, but in "Longmire," the casting overall is great. Even though I've seen Robert Taylor in other things (and heard his own, real Aussie accent), as soon as I see and hear him as Walt Longmire I can't picture him as anyone else, nor can I imagine a Walt who isn't him. My DH has read all the Longmire novels and says the TV Walt is perfect for the character that DH pictured. (And if you haven't seen "Longmire," hey, check it out, mystery/drama/cop fans.)
