This is about caring about a lot more than risks that approach zero and raising your children to make decisions and trade offs. It’s hard to progress when your parents infantilize you and tell you a big bad wolf lurks behind every corner. It is oppressive and counterproductive. We will have our different views on this. I don’t foist mine upon others but don’t take kindly at all to people who measure how much you care by the length and width of the comfort blanket with which they smother their children.
