Its also really weird that none of her family was home during a Shelter-In-Place order...on Mother's Day. The high school teen daughter was on a camping trip. The college aged daughter was supposedly away at college...even though all the campuses are shut down. The father was 150 miles away in Denver.
1) Kids are still able to get together with small groups of friends. There is nothing wrong with going camping. 2) Many college kids opted to stay in their off campus apartments while finishing out there semester online because they signed leases and still have to pay for the apartment anyway. Might as well SIP with their college friends. 3) The husband may have been away on business or he might even been visiting an elderly parent on Mother's Day. What is odd is that an attractive, fit 49 year old wife and mother with a beautiful home/family/life got on a bike to go for a ride and has not been seen or heard from since. It's not like she was seen getting into a car with a backpack or suitcase. She was on a bike. That is a concern. And I can not blame the family for being very worried or the police for suspecting foul play. it does not sound good.
ONE of those is normal on a regular weekend. ALL of them on Mother's Day no less much less during a national viral outbreak is just puzzling.
Not to me. Maybe the family planned to celebrate Mother's Day once the college age daughter was home from school. Her semester is probably ending soon and they might have been hoping that if they waited for a little while they could actually treat Mom to a restaurant meal.
LOOOL You're reaching here. Delaying Mother's Day? A birthday celebration I get - but its kind of hard to delay a national holiday. There was no reason for the college daughter to be at college especially with all in-person classes canceled nationwide. Same with the teen who decided to camp? in the middle of a pandemic. As for the father --- 150 miles away as well. Did anyone check to see if they're all alive?
They are a busy family. Mother's Day this year was a weird one for many families. There are people on DCUM who have been too scared to even see their parents outside. I can absolutely see putting the celebration off until it could actually be celebrated. If they can do it for Christmas, they can do it for Mother's Day during a pandemic. As far as teens going camping on a weekend with a small group of their friends...yeah, some are doing that. Many college kids stayed in their off campus apartments rather than go home because no one knew if/when the semester was going to start back up again AND they still had to complete their lease on their apartment so why not stay, especially if they had a job in their college town. The husband working on the weekend is not that abnormal, either. You might be surprised by how many people work long hours into the weekend.
