I have a perfectly nice kitchen in the style of Standard 2010s Flip -- white shaker cabinets, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops etc. I'm dying to rip it out and put in something with a little personality. I'm thinking full retro -- mint green or red appliances (the funkier the stove, the better), checkerboard floor, pastel-painted cabinets. Exactly how much would that tank my resale value?

I like this kitchen, including the black and white checkerboard floor.  The only thing that is throwing me off is the pink tile in the back splash, it clashes with that bright red table....and I think that the red table is too bright red to be retro.  I can't decide if I'd need to change the back splash or the table or both.[/quote]
