Our child did read at age 3, and I mentioned it to their preschool teacher at the time. Preschool teacher came back to me a week later telling me that I was right, DC was reading. DC read something to the teacher that she had just written on a piece of paper on her clipboard. She too thought when I mentioned reading it was only because DC had memorized books. She was wrong and so are you. And, we didn't do anything to force it - just had books in all play areas (along with toys), and a routine every evening of bath-books-bed. [/quote]
