is this for all age groups? invitations for teams tomorrow?
Seems crazy that at the ECNL level they would give invitations to the existing players without trying to absorb any outside talent interested in coming over given the consolidation. But if they are, I guess they are loyal.
Come on, its BSC - if need be, they'll just bump an existing player to a different or lower team and give that player's spot to the shiny new object that came along later. They do this often, even in regular times. Doesn't matter that you were offered a specific team and accepted a specific team.
I have never seen BSC kick a player off of a team during the season to replace them with a better player.
I saw multiple kids dropped from the DA roster to the team below during a season.
No you saw kids that were getting no playing time told they could either sit on the bench for the whole season, or start on Blue. Different.
Fair nuff, but this seems a distinction without much difference. If your choice is "you can stay on the team and get virtually zero playing time" vs. "you can move down and get lots of playing time," then that is not much of a choice. Maybe you pick the former if you want the "training value" of practicing with your top team, but being unable to play meaningful game minutes will hurt a kid's development. BTW, I totally see this happening with the offers first to kids on BSC, and then additional offers being made after the formal tryout take place for kids outside the club. If there are talented players from exDA teams on the boys or girls side, you can guaranty BSC will take them and either bump bench players down or give them the "choice" above.
