I worked full time until after 3 was born, then went back after 5 was about 2 years old. The time at home was awesome and I don't regret the financial part of it at all. I'm also glad I was able to get back into my career. Dh is actually in the same career and has been. We don't make DCUM money but we make solid middle class money.

We had a minivan and traveled in that. I'm not local to this board, but in fact one of our favorite trips was camping at Greenbelt and seeing the DC sights! We've been to Disney World, skiing (locally in the NE when we lived there) beaches, ect. We did not travel internationally, although I know big families who have.

I had (and still have to be) organized. Had to make sure everyone had what they needed, ex. 2 needs new shoes, 4 needs posterboard for a project, ect...getting everyone where they needed to go. We also made it a priority to serve in our church and our community. We made it all work though.

In fact, in Feb (thankfully before all the current events ) I had 5 of 6 here and they were talking about their fun memories of our crazy lives. I was raised with just one sibling so it's neat to hear their views. The little one listened in amazement, since her life is so different being so much younger.

It's totally doable OP and not to be feared! I've long since tuned out negative comments from people both IRL and online. My adult kids are all contributing to better our world and have turned out well.
