There are plenty of liberal democracies that are handling the crisis well. South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Denmark, etc.

You don’t need to be a police city state to manage a pandemic with competency. In fact, the US handled pandemics easily in the past. But it takes good leadership that defers to subject matter experts, public investment, and a bureaucracy that is supported. [/quote]
