OP, I am with you. I had an epiphany in January when I realized that I was spending $200/month on my gym membership, and only going three times a week to the small group bootcamp (that I had to pay an extra $150 a month for). The one spin instructor at my gym who I could always count on to deliver a phenomenal class had just left and I was like this is ridiculous. I quit, bought a peloton, and am also obsessed. I tried to resist becoming a cult member, and during the first week I was actually thinking I'd be one of the rare few who take advantage of the 30 day trial and send it back, but by week 2 I was hooked. The metrics are so great and make me work so much harder than I ever did at the gym. We bought a TV to put in the basement across from the bike so that I could do all the other classes too, and now I'm doing yoga and strength work outs so much more consistently than I ever did with my gym membership. I wish I'd done this a year ago. The monthly cost for the bike and membership is less than my bootcamp fee, and that's before you even take into account my family's gym membership which we cancelled. I know there are people out there who think Peloton is ridiculous, but I'm definitely a huge fan. I do wish I could have friends over to use it, since my friends who are used to going to the gym are really hating not having access to any equipment right now. :-(
