I once posted in a forum that I was trying to divorce a narcissistic chauvinist behaving literally “like Trump”. It was pure hell. He seemed empowered the longer Trump did and got away with crazy things, as the height of our divorce grew as 45 came into office. At the time of that post, when I was beyond any relief, I just sought commiseration, or hope at the lowest point. I was met with crickets. No one commented or offered support, saying it was too “political” for the relationship forum, and maybe if I didn’t bring politics in people would respond. Fast forward to today and I would probably have very different responses if I posted again. At this point,  his horrible leadership has spread worse than the virus in so many ways and we are all reeling from it. Trump is traumatizing, and it was the only analogy I could use. Now people are speaking up, because this trickle down effect to supporters being jerks is so much more common. It’s very sad. I’m just trying my best to avoid being sucked into the nimwit’s nest. Yes, people are absolutely living vicariously through Trump, or emulating his actions of bullying, lying, and general stupidly, because he normalized it for them.

Trump and his Trumpettes, Trumpsters, and Trumpkins will never be normal for me, and thankfully, most people. Shameful.[/quote]

I see what you mean very clearly despite not dealing with what you went through. I'm sorry that you did and hope you've reached the other side.

Like you, I once posted in a thread that Trump unearthed a platform for all the freaks to fly their flags. [/quote]
