I think OP's spelling is best if you want a "More-uh" pronunciation. That is how the 4 in my extended family spell/pronounce it. OP - I like Maura much better than Ethel. I'm not one to try to predetermine nicknames, especially for shorter names. I think you are likely to end up with a little "Mo" on your hands once you get to school age, but I like Rory.
