Don't worry, after he gets his PhD, he will be making $25,000 a year as a postdoc, and will be able to treat you to all the luxuries you deserve while trying to get his dissertation published and striving for one of those "300 applicants per position" tenure track jobs.
finance phds are starting at $230k +2/9ths now
Yeah from MIT, Chicago, Stanford, Wharton, Berkeley, not from any school in this area. Besides, the OP is not dating one of those nerds anyway.
Actually, salary is based on the school you end up at, not where you come from. Is there an actual doctoral program where the people are NOT nerds? lol
You won't end up at a school that pays that unless you come from a school like MIT, Chicago, Stanford, Wharton, Berkeley.
Six schools can’t fill up the entire top 50. Even Kentucky pays market rate and they ain’t hiring Stanford lol
Haha! Kentucky does not pay 200K for tenure track finance/Econ professors. Not even close. Schools at that rank pay about 75 - 85K. Most tenure track jobs in that field - even at better schools pay around 100K and anything above 140K is very very rare for a tenure track position.
