They tell me my stepson is a very talented swimmer. He’s 14 now but I checked his stats from a meet when he was 12. He swam the 100 free in 51.26 and placed second at the meet.
Supposedly your step son is top 20 in the US. There was no single 12 y.o. with 51.26 100FR time in 2018 competition year. All individual swimming times is openly published info. And you also marked my previous response to your message to be deleted so you can continue posting non-factual "record" times of your relative.
You posted his name so I asked Jeff to delete. I messaged him and he said for state the cutoff time is 56 and regionals is 1:01 if that helps the OP to determine what a good time is.
Even if your step son indeed swam that time, what’s the point of sharing this info with parents asking about good time for a beginner 12 yo? It’s like saying “Phelps swam 49 for 100FR” or whatever, but how relevant it is to the author of this thread rather than teasing her child who is a beginner ?
I wasn’t trying to make her feel bad at all! She asked what a good time is so I shared a time of a good swimmer I know personally. I even went back a bit in his meet history to make sure I pulled a time from when he was a young 12 and not closer to 13. She wants to know what is considered a good time- I posted a good time from an actual 12 year old in an actual race.
And what we are telling here that the time you posted wasn’t swam at any official race so you are likely bragging here. There were several 12 yo in 2018-2019 competition year that swam around 51 sec, but none did exact same milliseconds. The devil is in detail
