Good question. My 10 yo has a summer bday and has always (since age 5) had a party at a park/playground. Parents stay & chat, everyone eats, kids play, very low key. I think he’d like to continue this but 11 seems kind of old for this. Right?
My 9 and 10 year olds no longer enjoy going to the playground.
Interesting. I'm 40 and I don't think I had a day in my life when I was uninterested in swings and climbing structures. At what age does the average child grow out of the "party at the park?"
Hah. Dh was thrilled when our dd was old enough to go to the park. He said he always wanted to swing and play on the playground (we live near an awesome one) but didn’t want to be accused of being a pedophile. He plays with them almost every day on the playground. Tag, hide and go seeks, swings. I agree that most 10 year olds don’t want a playground.
I honestly can’t remember the last time my 10, almost 11yo, went to a playground.
