PP here - to clarify, while my second grader might enjoy something outside of school, what she'd really like is to get class time to do it. She's continuously complaining that math is too basic, even the level II stuff. She'd like more interesting math [i]at school/i].[/quote]

What are her test scores and grades like?  Does she have an approachable and reasonable teacher?[/quote]

She consistently gets 4s on all her academic work, and her teacher is great, though I haven't asked for a change of work. Already marked as "above grade level" on her report cards for math and LA. Have been hoping she'll get into level IV and that will help things.[/quote]
