Could you cite your child's declared major by any chance?  On College Confidential, I have noticed that many of the high SAT students relegated to Freshman Connection and getting overlooked for Honors programs are Computer Science majors.  Could this be true in your child's case?  Or declared major in another Limited Enrollment Program?[/quote]

Could be. We were at Maryland Discovery Day yesterday.  For the College of Engineering, average incoming freshman GPA as 4.456 and middle 50% SAT was 1390-1510.[/quote]

Most schools do not offer 1.0 bumps in honors courses and don't allow freshman or sophomores to take AP's like MCPS does.  And it is total BS that they don't count it against you.  If it did, they wouldn't have a weighted GPA as the ONLY thing to see on their slide shows.  Trust me. [/quote]
