Hospitals are notoriously bad at diagnosing delirium and frequently chalk it up to mental illness in a young person or dementia (which does not come on like this, btw!) in an elderly person. Ask for a psych consult, mention the family friends concern about delirium, and they should get a professional translator. Sorry, op, it sounds very stressful I hope it goes ok. [/quote]
