Do red flashing school bus lights apply to cyclists? In traffic on MacArthur I just saw a speeding cyclist pass a school bus on the left while it was loading kids. An accident would have been as devastating as with a car for the kid. One more reason to hate them.
No, it wouldn't have been. But yes, when I'm on a bike, I stop for stopped school buses, just as I do when I'm driving.
I think OP needs a better understanding of physics and bodily injury.
People are killed by bicyclists every year and a child hit by a cyclist has a good chance of being severely injured.
OP, seriously, just stop if you can't tell the difference between a 2-3 ton vehicle hitting you at 40 mph and a 200-pound person plus bike hitting you at 15 mph.
“Speeding cyclist.” OP is right. Sure, a car moving at a faster rate of speed would be more likely to kill someone, but that doesn’t negate the fact that a bicycle and rider moving fast could also kill a child. It happens. Slam a kid’s head into the pavement and the outcome won’t be good.
Joggers too. We need license plates for joggers!
