I'm not sure I understand the recommendations to "go to a gym", "go to a yoga studio", etc... Why not get a bike, and just ride that. It will double as a form of transportation, and you can go straight from the house. No need to drive around all over the place and meet some arbitrary schedule. Just like running only better on the knees!
Because this is not realistic for everyone. I think people who bike in the city and on busy streets are nuts and asking to become road kill. I'm an avid biker and live next to the W&OD and it even freaks me out when I'm alone. A female biker was just attacked on it a few weeks ago. The perp has not been found. Each year there are incidents like this. Also, how is one supposed to bike in the elements? How does one avoid living life on an "arbitrary schedule"? Some of us work and have small children, so our schedules are anything, but arbitrary. BTW, I bike to work 3xs a week. Do you have any idea what it is like to bike 30 miles round trip lugging around a laptop, clothes, and toiletries? It takes a massive amount of coordination and dedication. It is not for everyone and if I did not LOVE biking (which most people don't) in no way would I find it fun.
