He works for a towing company, it was actually a company tow truck, and I am glad he was not towing anything in his Ford pickup at that time. Maybe that is why he was self insured motorist? Is it ok for a tow truck to not have auto insurance?

Either ways I agree my insurance has to pay in this case, so not arguing that point. I was under the impression that the 100K property and 250K injury had already covered the accident costs since it was over 6 months ago.

The cryptic letter says 'unfortunately it appears damages might exceed coverages but we dont have the full damages cost yet'. Very confusing.
