And as noted in earlier posts--in the US there are fewer and fewer manual transmission cars for sale. That's been the case for many years now. I would not assume anyone already knew how to drive one. My DH always rents a manual when we travel to his home country because he wants to keep up his skills at driving stick shift, and that's fine. But despite the fact that he loves them he agrees with the PP earlier who said that in stop and go heavy traffic, they can be less than ideal. [/quote]
