None of them, no matter what mileage driven, could go more than 12-15 months before “TBN” (acidity) rose too high and it was time for a change. Thus, the 12-month prudent interval for low mileage vehicles. When oil acidified it’s eating up your engine from inside (seals, etc.).[/quote]
