OP here again - thank you. Doctor started my teen on 10 mg. It’s been around 10 days and I haven’t noticed much, although it’s my understanding that it takes a while to kick in. Has this been the case for others?[/quote]

We normally saw a difference if it was going to help in a week (but we waited two). 10 mg is very low - you probably need to go up. When are you scheduled to go back? [/quote]

OP here again.... I think I'm starting to see subtle improvements... his mood has improved several notches.

Another question... is Prozac mainly managed by psychiatrists? Could a family doctor manage it? (and I could avoid psych's fees - doesn't take insurance)[/quote]

I am the PP -- family doctor does it. And I rechecked the numbers: Teen has landed at 40 mg, not 30. He's 6 foot 200 pounds.[/quote]
