I usually pay cash.  But there are times I haven't had cash.  I've offered to give them a check on the spot, or to give them cash next time I see them.  Our babysitters are all on the block, so it probably wouldn't be too long a delay but it could be a week depending on when I get cash or when I see them.  They have usually said a check was fine.

If a babysitter said she would prefer Venmo to a check, I would be happy to do that.  It just hasn't come up.

How do you “not have cash?”   You knew you hired them and would have to pay them!  You can get cash back from almost any grocery store, and there are ATMs everywhere.   There is no excuse.[/quote]
