Have another frank discussion with your husband.  Tell him that you notice that he has been slipping.  Tell him that if he wants you to trust him, he needs to sign a HIPAA waiver with the doctor who is prescribing his medication so that you can discuss his medication condition and treatement with that doctor.  If he isn't willing to do that, he needs to find a rehab center and check himself in.  And it he won't do that, then you need to emphasize that you can't trust him to take his addiction seriously and need to do what is best for you and/or kids (if you have any).  Then decide whether it is best to ask him to find a temporary place to live until he can get his addiction under control, or move yourself and/or kids out of the house until he can get the addiction under control.  If you leave the status quo, he will not make any changes.  Addictions are stronger than the victim.  He either needs to want to change or you need to make changes to your and his life that will make him acknowledge that he has lost control and he has to want to make changes to get back on track or give in to his addiction.

Regardless of what he does, you need to find a nearby chapter of Nar-Anon and get yourself to the very next meeting.  You need the support and guidance that people who have been there can give you.  They will be able to provide you with much better direct and focused advice for your situation because you can tell them details that you may not want to discuss here on DCUM.  Last, you need to find somewhere to lock up your own prescriptions so that he does not have access to them.  If you have a locking desk drawer, put them in that and keep the key on your person.  If he does not have keys to your car, put them in the glove compartment and lock it.  If you can't get anything else, just go to Target or Walmart and buy a portable locking cashbox, office safe or similar where you can store the meds and keep the key on your person (not in your purse where he could rummage and find it).[/quote]
