I live in Canada so things are a bit different around here. 50's - Lightweight fleece jacket and everyday wool socks with sneakers 40's and high 30's - Mid-season jacket with removable fleece jacket, nylon pants with suspenders, duckies with everyday wool socks, fleece-lined nylon mittens, lightweight beanie, lightweight neck warmer 40's and high 30's - Rainy day - Lightweight fleece jacket, mesh-lined rain jacket, unlined rain bibs with fleece sweatpants underneath, fleece-lined rain mittens, unlined rain boots with wool socks (everyday wool socks from H&M for school days) or rain boots with felt liners, lightweight beanie, lightweight neckwarmer Mid 20's to low 30's - One piece Helly Hansen snow suit, lightweight balaclava, fleece-lined rain mittens, rain boots with felt liners For proper cold they wear, depending on weather, one piece snow suit, wool-lined ski mitts, wool balaclava, Smartwool socks, polyester and merino wool base layers, light and mid-weight fleece jackets, fleece sweatpants, snow boots with felt liners plus an all-in-one wool suit for the car seat.
I love this! Warm and comfortable no matter what the weather. I'll have to look on H&M for wool socks. And can you share a link for fleece-lined rain mittens? I see some on Outnorth.com too, but will take recommendations.
I buy the Pilegloves from Didriksons. I like them because they stay on which is not always a given with mittens. I also tried the unlined ones from Reima and they were worthless. The ones from H&M I had to return because the elastics didn't seem tight enough. OK for an older child but for a toddler I was afraid they would fall off. I refuse to keep putting on mittens so I only buy the ones that stay on. I buy the Pilegloves from babyshop.com. I actually waited for them to go on sale and bought all the sizes.:) Shipping is cheap. They don't seem to have a lot of inventory right now though. Babyshop has a lot of nice practical stuff and there are often sales but you need to know the good brands. It's a Swedish website that ships worldwide. If you like European fashion, they have everything you need. Here's the link : https://m.babyshop.com/search/searchbytext?key=Pileglove We use them on cold rainy days and for wet snow play. When the snow is wet, proper ski mittens are either too warm or not waterpoof enough. These are 100% waterproof because they are made from PU which also means that they are not breathable so we have other types of mittens for drier weather.
Size chart https://www.didriksons.com/en/sizing-charts/gloves
You are the best, thank you so much! I just got Didrickson rain pants so will get the gloves. Thanks again!
