She's a competitive swimmer and her cohort talks openly about BC options to manage heavy periods and cramps, which are disruptive to training and siwmming performance. One of her friends had a lot of break-through bleeding with IUD. Shot is reportedly very painful. Most prefer the BC or implant. She reports that some girls will tray an BC BC that is supposedly similar hormonal mix to the implant so they they can see how their body adjusts to that hormone mix before doing implant. My DD currently does low dose BC, which does not require a placebo induced period. I'm not sure if those with implant have periods regularly or occassionally.[/quote]
