That’s on MOCO County Council. Just like when you pay Federal Taxes. The Treasury (IRS) collects the money and Congress distributes to the various agencies.

And where did you get the $40K number from?  Let’s pretend your number is correct, then isn’t the $2.4M that MSI gave to MoCo huge awesome amount?

No, it is not a huge awesome amount. It is a huge liability.  The money only paid to install the artificial turf fields. It does not pay for maintenance, removal or replacement.

Again, see the WJ, RM, Wootton high school artificial turf fields.  Installed and then abandoned.  Those fields must be maintained, removed and replaced out of the MCPS Operating Budget because the whole fantasy artificial turf plan failed.  Rentals did not materialize, rental income did not fund maintenance, removal or replacement.

Creating a liability for the MCPS Operating Budget is not awesome.  It is a continual drain of education funds to an artificial turf field when that money could be used to pay for teachers or give teachers raises.  MSI Soccer is making a choice for how the MCPS Operating Budget will be used. They want money to maintain, clean, remove and replace their field surface, classrooms be damned. [/quote]
