These Republican lawmakers aren’t turning on Trump. In fact, “the transcript released yesterday with Mr. Zelensky’s consent, shows unequivocally there was no quid pro quo. Mr. Trump never mentioned military aid or suggested he would suspend funding until allegations about Hunter Biden we’re investigated.” https://www.wsj.com/amp/articles/impeachment-is-what-vladimir-putin-wants-11569453203 As usual, this is all some major wishful thinking on the part of Democrats. Americans are sick to death of your absurd antics.
That represents the views of 19 Republicans, not all Republicans.
Democrats hold 45 Senate seats. Only 67 votes are needed to sustain impeachment. If 19 Republicans are already turning on Trump do the math. 11 Republicans voted against Trump yesterday to over turn Trump's fictional emergency declaration. I think as evidence trickles out a few more Republicans will turn. That's why there are hearings.
Agree with your general point but worth clarifying that all the Republicans in the WSJ op-ed are a) in the House and b) not turning on Trump
