[/quote] Not OP but everyone has taken this wayyy out of proportion. First of all, Erikson is very well known and considered reputable in the child development world. Second of all, this isn't for research it's for the student to gain understanding of infant behaviors and the dynamics between a parent/child relationship so they can build skills in supporting healthy parent/child relationships. I agree this is a huge ask for a parent of a newborn but dang people, calm down! You don't have to do it if you don't want to. She's just looking for ideas.
