Historically women married for economic security and because it wasn't culturally acceptable to have sex/kids outside marriage. If the man earns less and could divorce you down the road anyway, there's little upside. The rational reaction would be for marriage-minded men to try to excel in the domestic sphere in order to attract/keep a breadwinner.[/quote]
