We have 3 kids. DH and I negotiate each week -- depending on my client schedules -- who  will do what, when. It works.  We do have a cleaner 1x per week, or we would go insane. I tell my DH we would be spending a lot more than that on therapy.

I don't take  clients til about 4pm on weekdays so my friendships/social life  are with  those zillions of people like me who do not work traditional 8-5 jobs (i would go crazy if i had to sit at a desk and work  those hours. I am an active person.) There is an entire universe of us out there with unscheduled day-times.

I tell my husband if i did work Sundays we could easily put the kids thru college. It's  a lot of money I am turning down but it is the only day of the week we can be together as a family. We go hiking, or to an activity in DC, or apple picking and the like.  Always, always our family day.
