But wait, whenever I or anyone else mentions not wanting children on this website, I am told, “who will take care of you when you’re old and can’t anymore?” So, sounds like it’s time for you guys to step up and start caring for them since they can’t do it alone. It’s obviously the main reason people have children around here since it’s constantly thrown in the face of anyone who is childless. So, get with it and fulfill your life’s purpose. [/quote]

I assume you have parents, right?  You can help your parents to downsize by helping them to get rid of unwanted/unneeded items - sell, give away, throw away.  You can visit places that might be more appropriate for their needs.  You help them do minor repairs to get the house ready for sale.  You clean up the yard to get the house ready for sale.  Your parents may need help with none of it, some of it or all of it.  But you can be there for them no matter how it all is handled.  Ideally, parents will do the bulk of this stuff themselves and not heavily rely on their kids to do it all for them.[/quote]
