In most Episcopal churches, people can interpret the Nicene creed however they want.  They don't even have to say it if they prefer not to.  There's no "penalty" for not saying it or not believing it in a certain way.  To some people it's just a familiar custom.  Other believe it literally, but there no requirement to do so.[/quote]
