I don’t know about you OP but this feedback has been enough to terrify me about my decision to try a VBAC this time. I’m now hoping this baby is breech or my blood pressure goes up again so I can just have another c section without guilt. My first was an emergency c and my kid was in the NICU so I can’t speak to a lot of the other perks mentioned here but I do agree that highlights included: -I basically stopped bleeding by the time I left the hospital. Just wore panty liners for about a week but it was super minimal. -Felt SO grateful every time I used the bathroom that there was no damage or soreness down there. Yes, I had to be very careful sitting down on the toilet with my incision but once I got there I was just so glad that I wasn’t struggling to wipe or cringing when I peed.
You don't need medical complications to have a CS. I am having a scheduled elective C with my first child this week. OB didn't bat an eyelash when I requested it. Estimated time in OR is 45 min, and bam, you have your baby. No labor pains, to tearing, no stalled labor, no pelvic floor damage, incontinence or organ prolapse. You may get lucky and do a vaginal delivery without any problems, but I am over forty and I guess just not that elastic, so I am taking an easy way out and happy about it, no guilt at all.
