Did you all like biking before you got one? Is there a place to try it out? I love eliptical machines, but haven't ever been a fan of biking (not a strong bike rider and am scared to be on the road versus sidewalks).
I'd never taken a spin class when we got ours. And I didn't actually like it the first time I rode. It took me a while to find my groove.
+1 I'd taken a few, but the Peloton is INFINITELY better than the general spin class.
Yes. I assumed before I got it that live was best but if you couldn't do it live then peloton would be a good substitute. But Peloton classes are much much better than any live class I've ever taken. That's because the instructors are really excellent (in classes I'd taken, some were good, some OK, but none as good as Peloton instructors), the training feels a lot more focused (if that's what you want - e.g. I love powerzone classes, but sometimes I just want to listen to great music and then I pick by playlist), and spin isn't really a thing where you get a lot of feedback from the instructor while you're doing it. They don't come round and adjust your form or anything, so it's just as helpful to have the Peloton instructor remind me about posture etc. And the bike itself is great, and I like that you can see exactly how well you're doing and how hard you're working. In spin classes it was all "turn the resistance a quarter turn to the right" but I never really knew what that was, and I'd lose track of how much I'd turned it, and it was too easy to just turn it the other way again. With Peloton, because you can see what resistance you're on, you stay honest and you also know what you can do and what will be difficult for you. I feel like I'm an advert for Peloton but it really is incredible!
