At the time I felt like medication was being heavily pushed on my DS. I think it is much more nuanced then many psychiatrists/doctors present it as. My son has been on and off of medication, there are certainly significant drawbacks to medication (sleep, increased anxiety, loss of appetite etc). He is now 18 and has decided on his own to take a low dose of Concerta. I am hopeful this is not forever though.[/quote]
