Posts like this drive me crazy. It's not like it's news to you that elementary school gets out between 3 and 3:30. Schools offer aftercare until 6pm because they recognize that many parents are not able to pick up their children at regular dismissal time. They have to staff the aftercare, pay the salaries of the people working there, buy materials, etc. Your kids take up 2 spots regardless of whether they are there for 45 minutes or 3 hours. You had YEARS to come up with a plan for how to handle it. Maybe just let your kids stay at aftercare until the end of that program so that you are at least feeling like you get what you pay for.
Also I would rather spend that extra 2 hours with my kids.
Then adjust your schedule so that you are leaving an hour earlier than you are and save yourself the hassle of the babysitter. It's ridiculous to expect a program to change its rules for your schedule when you are clearly not willing to adjust your own schedule in order to spend that time with your kids.
