Yes, pay is stretched out all year, which is great because I know people who work in other school divisions in other states where that is not the case, they have to save up for the unpaid summer months.

The last month or two of school can be quite grueling with standardized testing and some kids randomly losing the behavioral gains they seem to have made during the year, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Finally, teachers do not have to "find their own subs" they just put in for a sub and that's it.  I work with people who are taking days off now just for the heck of it, personal me days, because they have the leave to do it.

It's a great job schedule and vacation wise, although it's not for everybody because teaching is tough and the pay is not comparable to many other professions.  But I wouldn't trade with any of you.[/quote]

and to add on to my own comment here, I get 12 leave days that I can use either as sick days or personal days during the school year, in addition to all the holidays and breaks.[/quote]
